THE BEGINNING
MORNING
During those days, my husband was posted in a place in India called Assam. Rainy season there meant frequent thunder showers followed with very strong wind. That day was normal as usual. After my husband went to work, I move around the big bungalow listlessly for few minutes. Then I had my breakfast and watered the plants (we had many flower plants). Next I took my favorite novel with me and sat on the balcony to read in peace. I was alone in the house so there was no one to disturb me.
AFTERNOON
In the afternoon after my husband returned, together we had lunch in the guesthouse. Later, I returned home alone. There was a small television set downstairs. I watched my favorite shows and then moved upstairs and returned to my book. Sometimes I looked around me and absorbed the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings. I could see the sky covered with clouds.
EVENING
In the evening we went to the market to get some fruits and vegetables. The market was far from the place we stayed. When we were returning home, it started to drizzle. We had covered only a short distance when rain started falling heavily with flashes of lightening. Few branches also fell on the roof of our car. We decided to wait for the rain to stop. We look shelter inside a restaurant nearby. Few hours later, when rainfall stopped and the atmosphere was much calmer, we started our journey. On the way we saw the roads blocked with branches of trees and drove carefully through them and reached home safely. Later we heard that 4-5 people were killed because of fallen branches and lightening. We were thankful that we did not meet with any accident and realized how precious life is.
