THE BEGINNING
MORNING

It was the Thursday 16th August 2006, or in other words GCSE results day. It was a glum morning with no sun in the air, even though it was the summer holidays. I was at home and woke up saw it was 8.30. I woke up to the sound of traffic going by my house and as I always do, drew back my curtains. Once I had stared out the window and seen all the cars driving by, I went downstairs and greeted my mum, while having some Shreddies, for breakfast. A bowl of Shreddies was enough for me so I got ready for my big day, which was starting to get me frightened; GCSE results day. I seem to remember being nervous therefore not be my talkative self in the morning due to these results which could affect my life ahead of me. That’s what had stood out to my Mum that morning and later told me how I had been quiet.
AFTERNOON

The morning had been very quiet I had been very quiet since I knew I had my GCSE results to come. My mum had noticed this and made me up my favorite lunch which was wraps, with a filling of avocado, mayonnaise and chicken. She knew how to calm me down. The time when to go down to school and get the big brown envelope was getting closer by the second. Before long it was time to go, I said bye to my mum and walked off into town, thinking of this big brown envelope knowing I would have to open it, to then find out how I had done in my GCSE’s. Sure enough I got to school people were outside either with big smiles or crying due to their results. I walked into the room to pick up my envelope and I could hear a pin drop. A young woman asked me my name, I replied anxiously “Jimmy Short”. I walked gingerly out the room and straight away opened my results, I had got one A*, one A, three B’s, five C’s, D and an E. It was fantastic I had never felt so happy.
EVENING

That night since my Mum and Dad were so impressed with my results we celebrated at a pub local pub, The Wheat sheaf, one of the families’ favorites. I had my favorite meat, steak with some chips and green beans. I noticed as I arrived there were two other people who had got there GCSE results who were celebrating with their families also. It was a popular pub which was the heart of the village. This day affected me in lots of ways due to me being quiet in the morning and hardly saying a word to a totally different person in the afternoon from when I had found out my results. It’s a day I will always remember because I decided what path I was going to take past GCSE’s whether it was college or 6th form college.
