Writing My Day Away

THE BEGINNING
MORNING
I open one eye at around 9 a.m. so I can wonder if I can still afford to stay in bed for a while or not. I usually can, so I squeeze my eyes shut, and daydream for an hour. Usually, my characters incessantly chatter in my head so either I listen to them or ignore them until real life intrudes at 10 a.m.
I shower and dress up, and go directly to the office (which is just downstairs from our dormitories). I log on to the computer, check my email and stuff, and try to do some writing on the side. I'm a writer for an education publishing company, but that's just my day job.
I'm also a professional blogger and a romance author. Apart from that I also maintain a personal blog. That's a lot of writing for one person to do on a typical day.
AFTERNOON
I usually eat lunch with friends from work at 1 p.m., and my workday really starts at 2 p.m. That's the time when I really get down to business. I pull up word files and search engines, put on my game face, and let my fingers fly. Currently, I'm writing lessons for fourth graders, so while doing that, I try to recall what it was like to be nine years old.
Since the lessons are a bit easy and the deadlines are quite lax, I usually finish work earlier than I should and have enough time to write my stories on the side before dinner. I usually finish a few snippets or a chapter (if I'm lucky and type really fast). By this time, the character in my head would be chattering non-stop and I would have to shush him or her up if I want to get any dinner.
EVENING
At 7 p.m., I troop to the dining hall with my friends and we stay there, eating and talking for about an hour. We'd catch the evening news or watch whatever is on the television, then go back to work.
By this time, I'm already done with what I have to do for the day so I can 1) go back to my characters who are glaring at me for interrupting their stories; or 2) check my various blogs, answer a few emails and drop by some of the forums I frequent. The characters almost always win.
So, I immerse myself in my... or their... story, usually losing myself in magical worlds and fighting evil, or falling in love, myself, until 11 p.m. or later.
I usually go to bed at around 1 a.m., tucking myself in with a good book until I fall asleep.
Then I repeat the cycle the next day.
