THE BEGINNING
MORNING

It was my first time on a cruise. My friends had said that they loved the cruises that they went on. A friend had noticed a special on cruises to Baja a few months earlier. So, we decided to take our families on a cruise together.

We had to drive up to Los Angeles the day of the cruise. We left early in the morning to get to the port on time. We nearly missed the exit. We were in the fast lane and had to switch 4 lanes in a few seconds.

My wife and I found decent parking not too far away from the loading area. We showed them our tickets and our passports at the front. We then lined up to get on the boat.
AFTERNOON

The ship was huge. The Carnival Cruise had its employees in the lobby greeting everyone. We went to our rooms and put our bags away. My wife and I went exploring and checked out the shops.

We had lunch aboard the ship. Nothing special on the first day. The buffet did have a large variety of food. After 5 days and 4 nights, I knew I put on some extra pounds without having to weigh myself.

There were many activities that we did during the day. I can't remember which days we did what. We did some rock climbing on the deck. We watched some shows performed on a stage. We also shopped and did other things on the boat.

When we docked at some of the other ports, we did some sightseeing. We went on the Glass Bottom Boat at Catalina Island, took a tour at Ensenada, had some scuba lessons, and ate some authentic Mexican cuisine.
EVENING

The nights were equally good. We had a formal night where we dressed up and had a fancy dinner. We went from the formal dinner to the on-board casino for a little action. I can't remember if we won or lost. But it was so much fun.

We also walked the deck at night. We star-gazed and talked in the slightly chilled air. We had drinks at the bar and went to their club to dance a little. We also saw some night shows.

I enjoyed just about every second of the cruise. The drive home was a little tiresome. I wouldn't mind doing it again when we have the chance.
