THE BEGINNING
MORNING

I think the transition from middle school to high school was my first big step. I went to Madison High School in San Diego. The first day was very exciting. I wasn't sure what to expect.

We were directed to the large cafeteria and sat there listening to the principal give his speech. When he finished, another person spoke and told us to pick up our schedules in the front. They had been sorted by last names and would show us what classes we had.

They gave us a tour of the school. I wasn't really paying attention. I was busy looking around seeing if I could find my friends from middle school. I saw a couple of them in other groups.

We then had to get our books from the library. It took a while since there were so many of us. After we got our books, we were released to go home.
AFTERNOON

I spoke with a couple of my friends to see if we had the same classes. I got to see them in a couple of them. We lingered around for a little bit and then walked home.

There was nobody at home when I got there. My brother and sister were in school and my parents were at work. So, I talked to some friends on the phone to see what they were doing.

I had to make my own lunch and then I went over to a friend's place to play some games. We hung out for a while before I left.
EVENING

My parents wanted to know how school was. I told them that it was good. I knew I had friends in my classes and the school wasn't so much different than the middle school that I went to, Kroc Middle School.

When I think back to that period in time, it all seems like a blur. Things seemed to go by so quickly even though it was 4 years of my life. Only a few days really stood out.

I hope I can remember more details so that I can put them away. But even if I don't, I'll write about other things that were important to me.
THE END
