THE BEGINNING
MORNING

I recently left my job at a online e-commerce company focused on car parts and accessories. It was tough leaving a group that I had gotten close to. But I had some important goals that I wanted to accomplish this year.

I joined the company almost 2 years earlier. Our group in the IT department spent a lot of time together in and out of work. I had also gotten to know many others pretty well.

That morning, I cleaned up my area and made sure I packed up all my stuff. I turned in my parking permit and finalized everything in the HR department.

I was to keep quiet on my departure to not bring down the company morale. However, many people outside the IT group found out about it and said good-bye to me. I was touched that so many people greeted me in person.
AFTERNOON

I had my final lunch with the other developers. We went to have Thai food. I love their noodles and so I had the spicy noodles. My co-workers love the hot stuff but I usually stick with a level of spice I can handle.

After lunch, I go over some code with the others. I make sure that all my usual tasks are taken care of. And that someone knows how to take over everything that I do.

Before I leave, I talk to the CTO for a little bit. I tell him that I've handed everything off and that it was a pleasure working there. We chat a little about the Chargers big game against the Patriots.

I say my goodbyes to everyone and leave a little early. It's always tough leaving a place for the last time. And this one was the toughest for me.
EVENING

My mood picks up at dinner. I met with my close buddies for dinner. We joke about work and how we should start our own company. That night, was the start of something special.

I had quit because I got an opportunity to work in a popular field, GPS. I was going to be able to play with the latest gadgets and technology. But it also freed up some of my time to work on my own projects.

My friends and I decided that we should combine our skills and work together in our free time. That's when we came up with the idea for this website. It's been several months now and the dream has come true.

We all had things to work on. I developed the programming code. Another guy worked on the database. Our smooth talker worked on getting some funding and will be responsible for advertising. The money bags guy paid for all upfront fees and will keep track of spending which we hope to repay when things get going.

So, this may go down as the most important day in my career.
