THE BEGINNING
MORNING
I don't particularly like to be scared, whether its at the movies or in person. But after having visiting Knott's Scary Farm for their annual evening fright night, it was actually a very fun experience. It was definitely a night to write about.
That morning I went to work as usual. Nothing really important happened that morning. I spoke with some co-workers if they had ever been there before. Some of them tried to scare me with horror stories. But I wasn't going to let that phase me.
I was going to make sure I had a light lunch today just in case. And I might skip dinner or eat it afterwards.
AFTERNOON
So, I had some fruit and a soda for lunch. I also didn't want to drink too much either because of the drive and you know what.
I left work around 4pm and went to my friend's place. We quickly left for L.A. heading north on the 5 freeway. We only made one short stop to fill up on gas.
When we got there, a line of cars had already formed on the freeway's exit. It would take a while before we got a parking space. We walked over to the entrance of Knott's Scary Farm and waited in line.
Once we got in, the fun just started to begin. We could see people getting chased around. There was little lighting and some man-made fog. It definitely created an intense atmosphere.
EVENING
We walked around keeping an eye in all directions. There was one incident that I'll always remember. We had entered in the maze and the guys were in front and in the back to help out the girls. I was guarding the back as we were walking down one of the straight paths.
All of a sudden, this huge life-sized monster which was hung from the ceiling started falling down towards us. I had already started moving past it when I saw it falling. The girl behind me had reached out and pulled me backwards in front of the monster. I didn't even have time to realize I was being sacrificed to the monster.
Well, the monster only falls half-way and then stops. So, there I was with a monster above me and a stranger pinning my arms and chest.
It was probably the only time I've ever been truly afraid in real life. And I'd have to say, its given me a good story to tell.
