THE BEGINNING
MORNING

Today I meet some friends for a round of golf. I don't play often, but when the weather is good, we get together for a game. I have been playing for a couple of years now.

I got started when I worked part-time for a golf equipment company. They gave me a set of clubs for free and I've been hooked since.

My wife will be taking the kids to her parents place, so I've got all day to finish. My friends are about the same level as I am.

I get up at 6:30am and meet my friends at the golf course at 7:30am. We grab a quick bite and then hit a couple of balls at the range. Then the four of us start the round around 8:45am.
AFTERNOON

The first few holes are kind of rough. I get bogies on the first 2 holes. Then it starts to pick up as I get pars on the next 3 holes. I'm in second place as we get done with the front 9.

My friends and I take a quick break and have a beer. Then the trash talk starts. Half the fun we have is in the trash talk. Of course, its easier when you are in first place.

I lose a ball in the bushes on one of the holes in the back 9. My friends get a good laugh about that one. But I get some revenge when I birdie the next one.

When we finally finish, I come in second by a single shot. The day is still young and so we go for a late lunch.
EVENING

After lunch, I go to my wife's place to hang out for a bit. The kids are having fun and so we stay around for dinner. My wife has her brother and his wife over. So, its a pretty packed house.

We eat like there is no tomorrow. It's so much easier to pig out when there are lots of people around. I definitely eat way too much and will have to work it off tomorrow.

We talk to quite some time and then head home. I put my clubs away in the garage and then wash up before going to bed.
